NATO will kick out Hungary for sacking ‘NATO friend officers’ from the Hungarian military?
NATO may start an investigation against Hungary because the government sacked hundreds of high-ranking military officers who reached the age of 45. The Orbán cabinet highlighted there were no political reasons behind sending those people into retirement. The opposition believes the motive is purely political. Orbán wants to give way to a new military officer generation, which is not that NATO-friendly.
This is why so many officers are sent into retirement
A new government decree allows military officers to retire after at least 25 years in active service, and reaching the age of 45. The Hungarian defence minister talked about the importance of rejuvenation and argued that young officers learn and use modern devices, but older servicemen do not. He also added that the military needed officers speaking foreign languages and obtaining international experience, index.hu wrote.
The trade union supported the idea. Meanwhile, it caused aversion in some NATO members. They argue that the Hungarian government sends away a generation that worked together with NATO. The Financial Times names István Juhász, who served in Iraq, Afghanistan and later in the USA. Military sources say the decree and the swiftness of its execution shocked military officers.
There are too many officers in the system, so reforms are needed. In the USA, 18 percent of the military are officers, while in Hungary, that rate is 23 percent.
PM Orbán and the commander of the Hungarian Armed Forces, Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi:
NATO worries
Ágnes Vadai, an MP of opposition DK and a former defence secretary, said that the government fires ‘NATO friend’ officers. Other opposition politicians believe the government would like new officers in positions, who share their pro-Russia views. Interestingly, nobody knows the number of officers the government sent into retirement. Vadai mentioned 170 and 1,000.
Experts say the Hungarian armed forces did their job well in NATO. A high-ranking NATO official said that such a move is a warning sign. Dr Péter Wágner, a foreign policy analyst, said the new military officer generation is just as NATO-friendly as the previous one was.
Tom Rogan, a national security journalist, wrote before that Hungary should be excluded from NATO because of PM Viktor Orbán. He suggested that Turkey and Hungary would not protect other NATO members in case of an attack.

Hungarians we are witnessing the “Veiling” of factual reasons, why the military of Hungary, is in a process of sacking moving on, in relation to military personal.
We know – the Orban Government – its Power, Influence & Control over MEDIA in Hungary.
The announcement over past weeks, this “Culling” process in our Military, those REALLY in the KNOW, having NO association nor of course membership or affiliations not have ANY invested interest – with the Orban/Fidesz Political Party Government of Hungary, they clearly indicated, in DNH and “other” media outlets in-side Europe & Globally, this Orban “driven” process, was a developing story, and that displeasure would be HEAVILY expressed by the European Union and NATO.
The “little” Austrian corporal had GRAND plans, and we know that – History Never Lies.”
Orban in deep consultation with Vladimir – the “joint” grand plan – destruction of Democracy in Hungary, the on-going AGGRESSION directed by Orban on the purpose, the functionality of the European Union, growing “Rift” that is rampantly ceasing relationships with the United States of America – the Prime Minister of Hungary – Victor Orban – his “mounting” problems, of his creation, a country as is Hungary in a Financial & Economic “Fire-Storm” that just add build on to EXHIBIT – the TURMOIL – Disorder, the path of destruction – the Isolation, Abandonment of Friendships with Country’s – the “ugly” place position of Hungary in Europe exclude Russia and China, that Orban has created and we FIND the present place Hungary, through Orban, is placed.
The Brand Name of Hungary – our PROUD name, the inflicted decimation ABUSE of our proud and glorious past, that bears growing witness to, seeing us, a country of “Ageing” – 9.5 million people, our Freedom, our Qualities of Life, the “Crushing” of Democracy, returning us back to pre 1989 times, being Governed under a Communist Government, our FUTURE being literally “ripped” from beneath us, our Families, our Children, our Grand-Children, taken from us, by this path of AGGRESSIVE leadership embarked upon by Victor Orban.
Hungary – we are TROUBLED and in the going forward, the “Stand” alone place, just Russia & China, as Friends, we are in the deep place of a Cataclysmic Disaster.
What will – Victor Orbans – his LEGACY be to Hungary?
Daily News maakt er weer een sport van Orban af te breken terwijl er een prima wet is, vakbond voor is en argumenten uiterst redelijk klinken. Pure verdachtmakingen. Schrijf eens wat positiefs over dit mooie land
Bravo Mr. Orban. All my respect! NATO is the tool of the western imperialism. NATO was created to counterbalance the Soviet Union. But, instead of ending NATO aftar USSR disolved, they decided to expand it with more and more countries intereseted in being part of the new club of imperialists. NATO instead of being ended started to invade or bomb countries like Afghanistas, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Lybia. In few words, NATO is a nazi imperialist organization.
N.A.T.O. will kick Hungary out. LOL! Come on now, that’s just silly. Never gonna happen! Nor should it, especially seeing as a country like Turkey (sorry, “Turkiye” or whatever) is still very much a member. What a joke… – in more ways than one.
What’s not a joke though is how heavy-handed the globalist authoritarian bullies are getting in their vendetta again Mr. Orban and their ceaseless endeavors to turn Hungary into yet another McAnywhere nonentity statelet, without a history, without an identity, without pride, without cohesion: demoralized perpetual children living in cold homes and eating bugs.
No, thanks!
No one in their right mind causes wholescale disruption in Hungary’s military at the precise time that there is a war going on next door and we are the closest we have ever been to a direct conflict with Russia. The Hungarian defence minister would not even name Russia as a security threat to Hungary but would only say that the threat was on Hungary’s eastern flank. Szalay-Bobrovniczky co-owned a company with Russian Transmashholding. He is defence minster and he has deep ties with Russia and zero military experience prior to taking his post. Russia controls the Hungarian government so deeply that the defence minister cannot even call Russia a threat. Think about that and think about Hungary’s future.
This really isn’t a big deal.
NATO would do well to start paying to real troublemakers within NATO (Turkey) rather than the EU’s favorite whipping boy.
Orban has for 30 years been too close to the paleoconservative faction in American politics. That faction is not without its merits and interesting points in its ideology, but it comes together with a lot of vices too — a fantasy of national regeneration of the West, eight decades after we thought we had put that nightmarish stuff behind us; a hostile accusatory attitude toward the existing Western order that brings it to the point of paranoia; an obsession with being different, because it is so bent on rejecting anything that fits normally within the existing reality, that it leads it off the deep end of the ideological spectrum into a coalescence with the enemies of the West. When paleoconservatism came to power in Washington in the person of Trump, Orban went with it off some deep ends. Thank you for your analysis of his latest disturbing turn.
NATO does not need Turky (my spelling) or Hungary. Those espousing both of these countries joining china and russia, have fun, I am sure you will enjoy your new partners.
